Talking Rock Ranch - Prescott, ArizonaSWI is the principal engineer on this 3500-acre, 1500 home development north of Prescott, Arizona. Design for Phase 1 of this large, 3,500 AC PAD included 8 miles of water and 8 miles of sewer mains, a 300,000 gallon water storage tank, a 2000 gpm pumping station, and a sewage pump station. Work included aerial mapping and other topography, utility and road layout and design, drainage design, permitting and all other engineering services required for project approval. Hydrologic analysis for this project included design of stormwater detention to limit post- development flows to pre-development levels. The project site included a contributing drainage area of approximately 60 square miles. Several hydrologic methodologies were employed in the drainage analysis; including HEC-1, HEC-HMS, PondPack and flood frequency analyses. Comparison of the methodologies were incorporated into the drainage report as were sensitivity analyses for hydrograph formation and rainfall losses. Additionally, floodplains were modeled and delineated for more than eight miles of dry washes.
