SWI completed plans to reconstruct one mile of this collector street in the Village of Oak Creek, Arizona. Project scope included conducting public meetings, working with individual homeowners, and recommending additional Right of Way to implement parcel-specific design solutions. When completed, bike lanes, curb, gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer and turn lanes at several intersections will have been added to an existing 24’ roadway. This project required careful consideration of vertical and horizontal realignment to improve sight distances, resolution of numerous underground utility conflicts, coordination with numerous affected property owners along the proposed route, and recommendation of additional right of way. Design services included traffic analysis for build-out scenario, sight distance analysis of existing vertical curves, and the recommendation of a frontage road for several lots with direct access to Jack’s Canyon Road.
