'Ahakhav Wildlife Preserve - Parker, ArizonaSWI conducted a Global Positioning Survey (GPS) topographic and hydrographic survey for the Colorado River Indian Tribes at the 'Ahakhav Wildlife Preserve. We supplied digital products, including Geographic Information System-(GIS) compatible attribute files for a dredging plan to improve fisheries and wildlife habitat. The project included backwater habitat mapping, channel design, and sedimentation analysis. Our staff collected bathymetric data and provided topographic mapping and designed a channel to optimize flows for native habitat. The project area consisted of approximately 50 acres of open water and 30 acres of emergent vegetation within the tribe's wildlife preserve.
