Custom Low Distortion Coordinate Systems for Survey and GIS, Various Locations in Arizona

SWI has developed a number of low distortion coordinate systems that are used with all projects for any agency. These coordinates systems are first used in land surveying and assembling base data in GIS but are completely compatible with all phases of land development. The advantages of using these coordinate systems over a traditional survey grid are: full compatibility with GIS, facilitates submittal of digital data and easy inclusion to an existing GIS, provides low distortion (between grid and ground surfaces) over a larger area, minimizes convergence angles & coordinate values, appropriate for modern surveying and mapping technologies, incorporates existing survey control networks and existing spatial data from a wide variety of sources such as ESRI, Trimble, and AutoDesk, and high quality design and surveying can be used to improve GIS data effortlessly.

These projects have been ongoing since 2004.
