SWI's core values consist of providing creative, high quality civil engineering services to each and every client regardless of the size of the job. We work with existing natural features to optimize the value of the constructed product while preserving the unique beauty of the Southwest. What sets us apart is the level of service, staff resources, and expertise we provide to the growing rural communities in Arizona.

SWI was founded in 1990 in Sedona, Arizona by Dave Shephard and John Wesnitzer. We opened our Cottonwood office in 1995, followed closely by our Flagstaff office in 1996. Our Prescott office opened in 1999, and a fifth office in Kingman opened in February 2007. We have grown steadily and strategically, allowing each office to become a fixture in the community before we turn our sights to the next new location.

Today SWI has more than 65 full-time employees in five offices. We manage many multi-million-dollar, large-scale projects from initial planning thru design document assembly, permit approval, and construction management.
